For 7 generations Jeff's family farmed in East Berne and Knox. Jeff was born in Altamont, attended Guilderland Schools and graduated from Hobart College and Duke Law School. He lives with his family on the Berne-Altamont Road.
Jeff is the father of 3 and an Albany County Foster Parent. He is the former CEO of the New York Lottery, managing a team of 340 employees and $100 million+ yearly budget. He was also a Commissioner of the Capital-Saratoga State Park System, overseeing Thompsons Lake and Thacher State Parks. After heading the citizens group that re-designed Main Street Jeff helped grow several local small businesses, including Hungerford Market in Altamont.
Jeff was a co-founder of ACT, the group responsible for the Victorian Holidays celebration. He was a founding board member of the Guilderland YMCA and is vice chair of the Guilderland Food Pantry. He has served for many years as a Trustee of St. John's Lutheran Church in Altamont. He also Chaired the Empire State Games and the Capital Region host committee of the NYS Special Olympics. .
